Beauty of Santorini

We will be publishing a new eBook (Images of Greece) very shortly and thought that readers may enjoy seeing a few images that will be featured in it. This short article displays some photographs that show some of the beauty of Santorini.

All of the images in this article were captured with a Nikon 1 V2 using the 10-30mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens (non-PD) and 6.7-13mm f/3.5-5.6 wide angle zoom.

We spent three days on Santorini and absolutely loved the quiet beauty and friendly people.

We spent a couple of afternoons walking around Fira, enjoying the architecture and the busy shops and cafes.

We were able to break free from the organized part of our tour while on Santorini and enjoyed exploring the island as our spirits moved us.

Knowing in advance that we would have some discretionary time, before we left Canada we hired a private guide on Santorini. We were treated to in-depth, local knowledge and the opportunity to view some unique areas of the island including Akrotiri.

I found it quite interesting to work in post with images I captured over three years ago. That experience clearly illustrated how some of the software that I’ve been using has improved with updated versions. I found the ClearView and Spot Weighted Smart Lighting tools quite helpful with my Greece photographs.

All images in this posting were produced from RAW files using my standard process of DxO OpticsPro 11, CS6 and the Nik Collection.

If you have enjoyed this article you may wish to consider Images of Greece. It is a 200 page eBook that features just over a dozen of some of the most popular locations in Greece and incorporates over 235 original photographs.

  1. Greece is one of my favourite countries in Europe. I love everything about Greece, from the vast blue seas to the amazing food, culture and people. I liked the photos you clicked on and the way you explained all the things.
