We are excited to announce the launch of our newest eBook, Desert & Mountain Memories.
NOTE: Click on images to enlarge.
This 200-page eBook features a range of photographs captured at 27 locations in Utah, South Dakota, Colorado and Wyoming. Over 245 original images are included in the PDF publication. Since we spent the most time in Utah and South Dakota there is some emphasis on these two states.
To give readers a good idea of the contents of Desert & Mountain Memories we have included some sample pages from the eBook, including the Table of Contents above.
Each of the featured locations begins with a brief summary page that provides readers with some general information, history or a few facts of interest.
The eBook is designed on a B5 Landscape format measuring 250mm x 176mm or approximately 9.9 inches x 6.9 inches. Viewing at an enlarged size of 125% will likely be acceptable to most readers.
All of the photographs in the eBook were captured during a photography tour of the four states noted earlier.
We were on a tight schedule and took all of the images on a ‘catch-as-catch-can’ basis and dealt with the weather as best we could.
We used Nikon 1 gear for the entire photography tour with the majority of the images captured with a Nikon 1 J5. A V2 was also used on occasion.
Our main focus was landscape photography, but we captured some nature images as opportunities presented themselves.
Our tour was designed to visit some of the most popular tourist and photographic spots in this area of the United States, allowing us to see some spectacular scenery.
We were on the road for a total of 26-days and travelled 10,187 kilometres (~6,214 miles). Since the majority of vacationers capture their photographs between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, we followed suit.
We also kept our hikes into various locations to about 400 metres (~1/4 mile) as most folks do not hike into a location for hours to capture some photographs.
Desert & Mountain Memories will appeal to folks who enjoy travel and landscape photography. The eBook can be used as a part of trip planning research.
Desert & Mountain Memories has standard anti-piracy encryption which restricts printing, copying and pasting, and also includes reader-specific QR coding.
The eBook is available for purchase and download at a cost of $9.99 Canadian. It is a large PDF in excess of 150MB so the download can take 8-10 minutes depending on your internet speed.
All of the images in Desert & Mountain Memories were produced from RAW files using my standard process of DxO OpticsPro 11, CS6 and the Nik Suite.
My wife and I would like to thank the many readers from all over the world that have been supporting our photography blog and our other eBooks.
We will soon be wrapping up Phase 1 of our eBook program with a 5th eBook – then we’ll be focusing our efforts on Phase 2 of our eBook plan!
Information about the download process.
The download is a two-stage process. When you first click on the Buy Button you will be transferred to the PayPal site for you to make your payment. Once that is completed you will be redirected back to the website. You must wait for a minute or two after the PayPal logo has disappeared before you begin your download. There will be a pause for several minutes while the website prepares a personalized copy of the eBook you just purchased. This delay is normal. Do not click a second time as this will interrupt the creation of your personalized eBook. After a few minutes, the download will then begin. Your copy of the eBook you just purchased will have a QR code unique to you, and your password will be your email address that you used when purchasing the eBook.
