Have you ordered yours yet, Tom ?
Hi John,
No, I haven’t. I am waiting for the Olympus PRO 150-400 w/1.25 teleconverter to come out so I can compare the size, weight, performance, overall functionality, and cost before making a decision.

Peter Baumgarten also had an illuminating review along with some beautiful wildlife shots.

Nice idea to curate a list of reviews, here’s a good one I can recommend by Petr Bambousek for bird and animal photography, with comparison to the Panasonic 100-400.

Hi Mark,
Thank you very much for the link to the Petr Bambousek review and comparison to the Panasonic 100-400. I have added the link to the top of the list in my article. Petr Bambousek is an amazing nature photographer and I’m sure that readers will appreciate his insights.

Thanks for posting these reviews. I bought a used Panasonic 100-400 to use on Olympus M1 and mk II bodies for a safari trip to Botswana a few years ago. I found the focal length very useful for that trip. However, I became concerned with its reliability over the longer term. Granted, riding in open land cruisers isn’t easy on gear, but my Olympus zooms had no problems. I had to send it off to Panasonic for repair of the autofocus after returning. Took a long time to get it back. I am looking forward to researching this new Olympus zoom. Thanks again.
Hi Robert,
I had a number of readers contact me via personal email about this lens specifically which indicated a lot of interest in it. I’m glad you found the links of benefit.
