As year 6 draws to a close for this photography website it creates thoughts of what we’ve been through the past twelve months. And, what plans lay ahead for 2021. To say that 2020 was a challenge for all of us, is an understatement of epic proportions.
This article, Nikon 1 Celebration, features a selection of my favourite Nikon 1 photographs. Even though the Nikon 1 product line was discontinued almost 2 years ago (July 2018) it remains a very capable camera system.
One year after being discontinued, my Nikon 1 kit is still going strong. This article features some of my favourite images captured with Nikon 1 gear and provides a summary of my kit’s current status.

From time to time I fall into a habit of only using certain lenses and overlooking other ones that are in my bag. Recently I was out doing some extension tube testing and I only brought my 1 Nikon 30-110 mm f/3.8-5.6 with me as this is my ‘go to’ lens for this application. I hadn’t used this lens as a regular telephoto zoom for quite a while. Circumstances led me to Bird Kingdom where I ended up using the 1 Nikon 30-110 mm without extension tubes to capture some bird images.
