Talons Thrust Forward
Since it is getting late in the birding season in Southern Ontario, I made some time in my schedule to visit Hendrie Valley yesterday. My hope was to capture some images of one of the few remaining ospreys in the area. Mother Nature cooperated and I was treated with an opportunity to photograph an osprey swooping in with its talons thrust forward.

E-M1X Bird-in-Flight Test
This lengthy article provides readers with details on my recent Olympus OM-D E-M1X bird-in-flight test. MC-20 birds-in-flight
This brief article shares a small selection of MC-20 birds-in-flight images and discusses the performance of this teleconverter. Recently I put my Olympus OM-D E-M1X, M.Zuiko PRO 40-150 mm f/2.8 and M.Zuiko MC-20 teleconverter through a pretty rigorous field test photographing birds-in-flight. You’ll see an extensive article on that field test very soon.
Forearm Camera Support
Recently I visited the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory to test out some Kenko DG Extension Tubes. I mounted the extension tubes and a M.Zuiko 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens on my Olympus OM-D E-M1X. At times, this high magnification gear combination required some additional hand-holding support. I had the opportunity to use my forearm camera support technique during this photo session. One of our readers, Ray Miller, joined me at the facility and took a photo to help document this camera technique.

This article shares a selection of ten images captured hand-held using the M.Zuiko MC-20 teleconverter at Bird Kingdom in Niagara Falls Canada.
Using a Macro Lens with Extension Tubes
Most of us use extension tubes and macro lenses separately for our close-up photography needs. As regular readers will know, I like to push my camera gear to see what will happen. This article features a selection of hand-held images captured by combining an M.Zuiko 60 mm f/2.8 macro lens with extension tubes. All of the photographs in this article were created at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory.

Also included is a selection of images captured using this teleconverter. The M.Zuiko MC-20 teleconverter weighs 150 grams (~5.3 oz). Niagara Parkway Challenge
On occasion I like to create some photographic challenges for myself. Today I decided that I would venture out to a familiar area and allow myself only one photograph for each stop that I made. The challenge included being limited to one camera and one lens. I also set a time limit of one hour during which to capture all of my images. So… I grabbed a camera and headed out for my Niagara Parkway challenge.
