Macro Flower Photo Art

This article shares a selection of 18 flower and foliage images that were processed into macro flower photo art. The ‘poster edges’ filter treatment in Topaz was used in a consistent manner on all of the images to make them part of a photographic family.

Natural Light with Macro Photography

Many of us who prefer to shoot handheld are also skewed to use natural light in our images. This article shows some examples of natural light with macro photography. All of the images in this article were captured handheld at the Royal Botanical Gardens (RGB) in Burlington Ontario. I used the Handheld Hi Res mode (HHHR) with my Olympus OM-D E-M1X for all of the photographs in this posting.

Add Context with an Image Run

As photographers we are always looking for ‘the shot’ when we capture images of birds. Sometimes the action that happened just before, or just after ‘the shot’… can help define it. Often we can add context by showing an image run. This can be important when doing a presentation at a camera club or discussing photographs with associates. Let’s start by looking at a single photograph taken part way through an image run.
