Like most photographers I enjoy going to the zoo to view the variety of animals, getting some exercise, as well as taking some images. During a recent visit to the Metro Toronto Zoo I had the opportunity to capture a number of images that I thought may be fun to share with readers. Finding light and details at the zoo can contribute to some interesting image captures. Continue reading The importance of light and details in zoo photography

Cormorants in flight with Nikon 1 J5
From time to time I like to go out on a limb and try something experimental just for fun. Before I get too far into this article I’d like to thank one of our readers (and a fellow photography writer) Ross Chevalier for sparking the idea for this article (you can check out his site here). Blackbird Chasing a Hawk
If we’re lucky from time to time we get the opportunity to capture an interesting bit of nature playing out before our eyes. I had one such opportunity on Saturday afternoon when I was able to photograph a blackbird chasing a hawk in flight. Continue reading Blackbird Chasing a Hawk
