Halloween Diorama

The first stop during our recent extended photography tour was the town of Frankenmuth Michigan. My wife specifically wanted to visit Bronner’s, which is known as the world’s largest Christmas store. While she had an very enjoyable time browsing and shopping, I had the chance to use my Deluxe Vello Extension Tubes for Nikon 1 to photograph a Halloween diorama that was on display at the store. Leafhopper with 30-110mm

While at the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory I noticed a few unusual insects on some of the foliage and took some close-up images of them with a Nikon 1 J5, 1 Nikon 30-110 mm and MOVO extension tubes. A friend of mine recently took delivery of a new Nikon 1 J5 with two kit lenses, the 10-30 mm PD zoom and 30-110 mm f/3.8-5.6 zoom. We visited the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory this morning to help him get some practice time with his new gear. I’ll be posting a few articles based on the images I took this morning. Butterfly images with Nikon 1 J5

Visiting the Niagara Butterfly Conservatory is always an enjoyable experience. There is a wonderful assortment of butterflies free-flying in the facility, as well as interesting flowers. I decided to spend a couple of hours capturing butterfly images with a Nikon 1 J5, 1 Nikon 30-110 mm f/3.8-5.6 VR zoom lens, and some MOVO extension tubes thrown in for good measure. A treasure trove of little lizards

Many of us who are fortunate enough to live in or visit warmer climates have seen small lizards scurrying about. These little critters can make intriguing subjects for photographs if we can find a way to get close enough to them.
